Do I sound like a broken record? Well, maybe I do, but I honestly cannot emphasize the difference it makes to have your outfits planned for the (work) week. It’s a game changer and once you’ve tried it a couple of times, you’ll get addicted. Just the thought of opening my closet with 5 outfits lined up for me is quite exhilarating.
So, here’s to another week of experimenting with what’s currently in my closet. Currently - as I do switch between seasons and then again interchange items in ‘micro-seasons’. Right now I’m in high winter ‘micro-season’, which is when I have removed most items made from cotton or silk from my main wardrobe. Not all however. More about this further down.
Monday
I definitely picked the wrong outfit of the 5 stylings I preplanned for the week. Wearing a cotton shirt closest to the body, when the temperature is below freezing point is never a good idea. And it’s not like I didn’t have other options. Just look at the rest of the week here.
But did I enjoy this new combination? Every single part of it. I’m really still reimagining ways to interpret that Dries van Noten look that I wrote about here.
A Dries van Noten look
This is definitely a good example of the power of social media, Instagram in this particular case, which I use to find inspiration. This time, one of the creative women from this incredibly inspiring community that I somehow became a follower of delivered. So, I don’t say it too often, but thank you, Instagram, for making the algorithm work in my favor this time.
Introducing an element of sheerness in a more subtle way, which layering it over a button down shirt is to me, becomes such a great option for everyday, office appropriate look.

Tuesday
Now, Tuesday was a completely different story. First of all, just the evening before, I did a live session going through everything I wanted to wear this week. This gave me another opportunity to take a closer look at what I initially planned for the week.
Sunday outfit planning
Xue - you’ve asked and I’m delivering :) My first live recording on Substack, where I’m going through everything I’ll be wearing this week. I should have checked the weather this morning. Why? Well, I’m talking about it here.
I normally do those sessions on Instagram, but one of my followers here on Substack suggested that I could also do them here. I’m still trying to find the right equipment to match the quality that an iPhone camera offers, as I’m streaming outfit planning simultaneously on Instagram and Substack, which means that I use my phone for the Instagram live and my computer and a webcam for Substack.
Anyhow, looking again at all the pieces made me think twice about how I wanted to feel the day after almost catching a cold… :)

I needed to feel warm but still put together. I wanted soft, cozy materials that were still formal enough for an office environment. This is exactly what a pair of corduroy pants, a boucle jacket and a sweater over my shoulders plus suede boots gave me with grace and confidence.
This was a perfect match between my outfit and the external conditions.
Wednesday
I started Wednesday at the gym. New Year = new self care habits :) And not that I wasn’t exercising regularly last year to start with. I surely did. I just did that at home. Since the pandemic. Don’t judge me.
Returning to the gym was so far the best decision of 2025. I feel super energized, inspired and motivated. The good thing is that I’m only changing the location - from my living room to the gym, which is literally on the other side of the street from where I live. Love it!
Now, I won’t be sharing my workout outfit here, but after having a quick bath and putting on some makeup I put these pieces on, accompanied with a good oat latte:
…trying to match my nail polish and the color palette of my styling ;)
I felt empowered and yet approachable in what I wore that day. Great combo of the classic (blazer, V-neck jumper), the modern (oversized denim pants) and the cool (the silver boot). Definitely to be repeated.
Thursday
I have mentioned this before - here and here. I had been looking for a fluffy, wooly, warm and oversized beige blazer to replace my current tropical/cool wool blazer from Arket, which I love and want to keep. It’s just too cold for the coldest winter months.
If I felt like shopping today
Is it my age? Am I too old to encompass all of the product news, must-have pieces, new arrivals and special discounts bombarding me from every possible corner? And I don’t even subscribe to newsletters from any brands or stores… If this is the case, there’s one more advantage of getting older.
And ta-da! I found just exactly what I was looking for! A soft wool and cashmere preloved blazer from Anine Bing via Vestiaire Collective - giving me the exact dosis of warmth and chill attitude that I’m expecting from a piece like this.
There is only one problem…
The blazer may actually be TOO LARGE - as opposed to oversized. Subtle difference you say. Maybe. But for now I’m bothered by it.
Here’s how I’ve styled the blazer for the day:
…and here is my attempt to document what is bothering me. Yes, this may be a mistake purchase. I do make those too. I think mostly when I buy preloved items online; and maybe especially when compromising on the sizing. I mean, I know my size in Anine Bing. It is a Medium. This is Large. My thinking was that because it is unlined, there are no shoulder pads and the fit is slouchy - it would fit me just like the Liam blazer does (as featured this week on Friday - so keep on reading).

So, I need your advice and hope you can help me answer the following question:
Friday
Oh, finally Friday!!! Do you have it the same when you’ve reached so far during the week? And it’s funny as I do enjoy every day of the week.
At some point between Xmas and New Year last year I took a decision. A decision to meet every day…yes, e v e r y s i n g l e d a y, with JOY. Whatever happens I simply repeat a mantra - I choose joy, I choose joy, I choose joy….
It’s still only a couple of weeks since the year started, but I’ll be honest, I do feel the difference in the way I perceive the circumstances that cross my daily paths. I think I’m becoming more of an observer than the actual participant with all the emotions that follow. And I like it this way. It does give me peace of mind and hence also joy.
So, saying ‘finally Friday’ it’s just an observation - because it is indeed Friday, which marks the shift from my work week routines to the weekend.
And here’s how I wanted to honor this shift - black and grey with as much silver as possible. We were actually supposed to go to the theatre with a couple of our dear friends. The theatre cancelled the show around lunch time (?!). My friend suggested we still should meet and go to the movies :) I love this kind of spontaneity.
Besides my silver boots that you probably know well by now, I wore also my 2nd hand Liam blazer from Tibi, very old leather pants from Stouls Paris, a merino wool V-neck jumper and a thick cashmere jumper over my shoulders. The other silver elements in this outfit are somewhat subtle - a pair of crystal earrings, two short pearl chains which I now always wear together and absolutely love + my men’s watch and a curly ring.

If you wonder what we actually went to see in the movie - it’s ‘HERE’ with Tom Hanks.
Have a great Sunday and thank you for being here and reading along! I couldn’t do it without you. If you feel like you having a coffee with me, it’s actually cheaper to support my work through a subscription ;/
Hugs,
Ewelina
Hello - new reader - i saw a bunch of links for the first few outfits but not the rest. Can you identify the jeans? Thank you!
I really love your attention to details in your outfits, Ewelina, from the textiles and fabrics to your intentional matching of your belt and nails. My favourite is Monday’s outfit- the patterned top really makes it, so perfect with the boots.💕
The blazer in question is clearly lovely, but also a size too big. I personally prefer a more structured shoulder to balance my chest.
I am in total agreement with planning work outfits ahead of time. It really works!
