Aaaah, it’s finally Sunday and I’m still in my bed at 10:30, recovering from a super intense week at work and the first week of holiday season outings. …which I love; I really do, but I also do need a day of just doing nothing. Well, at least nothing else than spending quality time with my closet.
Now, that I’m here on Substack, part of that quality time is spent here, writing about my daily outfits, talking to inspiring women, like Missmatch here, or sharing my tips and tricks to a more conscious closet that brings me joy over and over again - like here or here.
As soon as, I’ve finished the first draft of this week’s ‘What I wore in a week’, I’ll get up and move approximately 1,5m where my part of hubby’s and my closet is. It will be time to plan my outfits for next week. …I make take a bath before. Let’s see.
Monday:
I bought this 3rd piece kind of belt during my recent trip to San Francisco, at the McMullen Boutique, which I discovered via Tibi. I visited the store in the search of …yes, a Tibi piece. The selection was super limited, but the store itself is really worth the trip from San Fransisco to Oakland. Such an exquisite selection from international brands such as Dries van Noten, as well as many black women-owned brands. Ahead of my trip to the McMullen store I had checked their website so I did arrive prepared. Beside Tibi items, I was open to buy a cool, 3rd piece, which was in line with my style and color palette.
I chose this cool waist belt and this Monday it was time to style it for the very first time.

The only other time I actually used the belt was during my styling session with Allison Bornstein:
The belt is made of sturdy cotton and can be easily tied - with the knot either at the back or on the side, as I chose to wear it. It’s black, so it blends just perfectly with the rest of my wardrobe. I have a girls night out coming up next Friday and I plan on styling it also for a more party look.

Tuesday:
This was a really busy day at work. This outfit lived up to the expectations, providing not only a put together look but also warmth and so much comfort. I could repeat this same combo every week. And you know what - probably I will :) There is something so approachable and down-to-earth about wearing a pair of - well, let’s be honest - joggers, but in a more elevated, yet still not too sophisticated way.

BTW - a small update. I have now taken a long bath, washed my hair that really needs a haircut (which is why I already booked a time at my hairdresser for at least 5-6 years), applied a new estrogen patch, had a lovely fruit acid mask, shaved what needed shaving, returned to bed to apply body lotion and to continue drafting this post while listening to this playlist:
I really love the color combination of beige, dark navy and chocolate brown in this outfit - only so subtly lightened up by the grey of the scarf and the silver boot peeking from under my pants.

Do you ever wear your scarves like this? With the ends hanging at the back of your neck?
Wednesday:
Have I told you about how I actually plan my outfits? Or how I organize my closet?
Let me know if this is something you would like to read about.
Anyhow, the blazer I wore on Wednesday is in my current capsule, as it is in this perfect beige shade that I enjoy wearing all year round - with whites and ecrus during spring and summer and navy, black and browns during autumn and winter.
It is however made of light wool, which actually means that it is quite airy and now always ideal for the colder winter days. That is why pairing the blazer with my preloved merino wool vest from The Row made so much sense here.

The bare arms did feel a little bit chilly, even with the blazer on, but overall it was a good outfit. For the first time I wore the heavy white boots from Proenza Schouler with a longer pant, that not revealing too much of the boot. I like the newness.

Discovering how little warmth the beige blazer is giving me, I immediately added ‘wooly, fluffy beige blazer’ to my open-to-buy list on my phone.
When I went for a long walk yesterday (Saturday) I did come by one of my favorite consignment stores in Copenhagen and see what I found! :) A wooly, fluffy beige blazer … from Celine. How crazy is this?!
I did not buy it after all, as it felt a little bit too lady like for me. I would definitely have to change the buttons, which carry the Celine name and this would basically be a fashion crime in my humble opinion. But it was otherwise exactly what I’m after.
Ok, time to get up and put on some clothes. Hang in there…
…back again and I thought I would show you this beauty of a bomber jacket that I see wearing as a blazer, meaning as part of a work or more festive look and underneath my outerwear. Whether or not I would also wear it as an actual outdoor jacket is not that important. The most important parameter for me for a jacket like this is actually wear it and see it during my day at work.
I didn’t end up buying it in the end but if you convince me, I’ll go back to ‘I blame Lulu’ consignment store and get this Stella McCartney piece :) If you wonder why I didn’t leave the shop with the jacket it’s because of the colours in the pattern of the fabric the jacket is made of. They are a little bit too much on the warmer scale, while I do prefer the colder tones. Also, which I actually think is the main reason, the material looks like some kind of a carpet or baroque theatre certain when you take a closer look.
Thursday:
I really thought this would be such a revelation - wearing a darker t-shirt underneath a light ecru cashmere jumper. It also seems so on the below picture, but it certainly felt off. The jumper that I’m wearing here is slightly transparent, so the cement/clay tone of the t-shirt was actually peeking through the knit. The t-shirt is a heavy, rather stiff cotton one, while the jumper is super light and flowy. Somehow the combination was wrong. For me.
Check out also Melisssa’s interpretation of the above darker T-shirt and lighter color jumper combo here:
As I already commented below her post - I cannot lie, I do like her outfit better. :)
Which is also why I ended up changing to a more safe choice within my comfort zone. I kept the skirt and the boots and added a black merino turtleneck as well as my preloved boucle jacket.

As to the cashmere jumper, don’t judge me! I’m selling it!
I have already listed it on Vestiaire Collective, but do ping me here if you’re interested.
By the way - if you’ve reached this far in this post, please be informed that I have already had lunch, finished watching the ‘Buy Now’ documentary on Netflix and occupy currently my favorite spot in our apartment - our fluffy, sheep skin ‘Tired man’ armchair in our living room …and yes continue the writing.
Friday:
Do you see the white element in my earrings? And the white top button of my silk shirt? Well, they were both part of a bigger scale masterplan. They had the match the white stripes in my hubby’s striped tie repurposed as my give-me-some-interest and creative vibes BELT.
What I do is I simply put the tie through the loops of my pants and make a knot at the end. You can experiment with how long each end you want to be. I made the wider part be longer to start with. After several toilet visits during the day, I ended up tying the belt with both ends equally long.

On Friday, I also posted pictures of all of my work outfits from this week on Instagram. This time as static pictures and not a reel. I think I like the reel form better. What about you?
Anyhow, if you want to see more pictures of my Friday’s outfit, you’ll find them added at the end of the carousel. Enjoy! :)
Besides, getting dressed and heading to the office, there was one very special I was really looking forward to this Friday - my conversation with generous, cheerful and resourceful Brenda from The Chic City Girl. I am super honoured to guest this week’s edition of Brenda’s Talk is Chic, where she invites and speaks with hand-picked creatives and women who enjoy fashion and styling as much as she does herself.
Thank you Brenda for having me on your program this week <3
This is what I chose to wear for my almost 1,5h talk with Brenda. Time really flies when you are having fun! Just after coming home from work, I quickly arranged my ‘recording studio’ aka our bedroom with me sitting in front of my open closet.
My outfit is 100% preloved. How cool is that? ;) Only the belt and the socks were bought new. The pants and the shoes are my latest finds from Vestiaire Collective. The white top is a gift from
and the blazer is vintage, found in Prague last summer.

Still on my to-do for today: 1. my online church community, 2. outfit planning, 3. outfit planning live via Instagram, 4. preparing my mind for a new week of work and fun. Let’s see how much I’ll actually accomplish today. I’ll report back about status.
I would typically finish my ‘What I wore in a week’ post here - with the last thing I wore on Friday, but I really don’t feel like getting off my super comfy, hugging-me-so-snuggly armchair, so I’ll show you also what I chose to wear to a dinner meeting a new couple of friends and having dinner in their apartment for the first time.
Saturday:
Yeees! A newly found preloved blazer vest via First Class 2nd Hand, owned by the sweetest Sara, who I might want to interview for my Substack one day.
As to my Saturday evening outfit, I was going for something put together, yet laid back. I also really wanted to play around with ring 3 colours, with just a tiny pop of white on my feet . I felt really good and appropriate for the occasion. Hubby and I had such a lovely night and slept in this morning to really recharge our batteries.
And as to my Sunday, I’ve also already done outfit planning for the upcoming week and this vest blazer will play an important role in one of the stylings. Finding missing pieces that I have been looking for, for quite some time; and finding them 2nd hand fills me up with so much joy. I want to continue this way - hopefully never looking back again.

Have a lovely (rest of) Sunday and a great, blessed week to come!
I really enjoy your outfits, although they are not my own personal style. Thank you for the tip on wearing the husband‘s tie threaded through the belt loops. I’ll have to try that, although not certain that his ties can handle my waist, haha!
I also enjoy a sleeveless jacket/vest. I have a great black one trimmed in metal tubes with racket edges that is very rock ‘n’ roll, and very much me.
I have a couple of events this weekend and I’m looking forward to wearing something festive at something slightly kooky.😁
Thank you so much for your lovely outfit round up. I love seeing what people wear in their day-to-day lives. 💕 I also appreciate how much work these posts take so kudos to you.
Love it - a reminder that I need to get to try planning my outfits at some point!
