This has been a good week. A very good one indeed. The first work week of the new year. I’m ready to up my game. I’m ready to become even stronger and take even better care of myself and my closet.
Journaling my outfits and tracking what I wear on a daily basis in the Cladwell app is part of my favorite ritual. It almost feels like I haven’t really worn the clothes unless I have registered a given outfit in the app. Can anybody else relate?
My resolution for 2025 is also to become more consistent her on Substack. I am really enjoying the process, the writing and the ideas just flow down on me from all the different directions. What I mean with being more consistent is to introduce fixed days and times when I publish certain articles - like this one for example.
I do want it published on Sunday morning at the latest, so that you can hopefully find some inspiration here for the week ahead. But for now, with no further due, let’s go through everything I wore this week; the second week of 2025, but the first one back in the office. …which in itself seemed like a challenge last Sunday. How I felt during those last work days before Christmas was so intensely dawning that I wrote a piece about it.
Monday
I took the leap of faith and inaugurated the new year with a strong look, wearing my biker leather jacket, white combat boots and a maxi wool skirt.
If you are interested in exactly the same jacket as I am wearing here, I actually put it up for sale via Vestiaire Collective. Why? Well, do subscribe, as I’m writing Part 3 of the Highlights from af year in my closet, where I go through everything I’ve already sold or have for sale in my closet right now.
As to my Monday outfit, the top is a combination of my new preloved top from Proenza Schouler and my Tibi sheer top - worn one over the other to create additional interest and tame the whiteness of the white striped top just a little bit.
Now, if you’re curious about how I plan what to wear during my work week, business trips or special weekend occasions - I share my process over on Instagram:
Tuesday
It was high time I wore my vintage deconstructed wool jacket from Ivan Grundahl again. This piece is one of the (many) preloved pieces I added to my curation last year. Curious to know what other pieces I was lucky to find and where? Go and check this post:
Part 2 - Highlights from a year in my closet
Judging by the content of my closet 2024 was a good one. In this 2nd episode of a short series, I’m looking back at my closet and everything that I added or removed from the curation during a whole year. In this post I’m focusing on all the amazing preloved pieces
Besides the jacket, I’m wearing also my preloved wool jumper from COS, vintage ecru denim from Dries van Noten, a snake belt from Khaite and boots from Aeyde.
Are you rating your purchases in any way? I feel like maybe it could be a good idea and could provide me with better insights and understanding of how a given piece is actually working out. Could it be possible to further minimize any mistake purchases?
On to Wednesday, when I wore my absolute favorite skirt - a preloved faux leather skirt from a Danish brand. I found it together with the grey wool skirt that I wore on Monday at First Class Second Hand. Besides the skirt, I’m wearing the checked brown Liam blazer from Tibi and a newer 2nd hand find - the ribbed polo shirt from Malene Birger. The boots are the most comfortable boots on the surface of the Earth - the Chloe Susanna boots that I’m actually also writing a piece about.
On Thursday, I wore mostly my work from home clothes that I didn’t manage to take any picture of. Scuza. What I did photograph was my evening outfit. We headed over to the Copenhagen opera, which is just a stunning, monumental piece of architectural art. So, if you’re ever coming over to the city, please do make sure to visit the building. You don’t need an actual play ticket.
And what did I decide to wear that evening?
I ended up with my silver boots from Arket, that I wrote about here:
Do you fancy a silver shoe?
If you’re looking for an edge; that one piece that is able to transform your looks in a contemporary and unexpected way; still feeling easy, maybe even neutral - opt for a silver shoe. Keep on reading and you’ll be in for a little treat of stylings for all kinds of occasions - all with my silver shoes as common denominator.
I added my newly found 2nd hand balloon denim pants, suede belt from Toteme, silk shirt from Frame and my older black blazer from Filippa K. Plus a vintage brooch. Et voila! :)
(BTW - we went to see the Billy Elliot musical with music by Elton John. It was a blast and both my husband and I and my in-law’s enjoyed it to the fullest)
This is how I typically wear my (two) silk scarves:
Friday
On Friday I really wanted to play with layering of this newly found sheer high neck top from Baum und Pferdgarten. It felt perfect under my denim shirt. Gave me extra warmth but first of all what it gave me was this sense of accomplishment in my creative process of styling my outfits in a way that feels true to who I am and how I want to show up in the world around me.
I also don’t wear too much blue these days. It actually used to very different some 7-10 years ago. Now, it’s more about the browns and blacks with occasional navy.
Just like in my Friday outfit - navy belt from Tibi, my old dark brown blazer from Samsoe Samsoe and an older pair of black jeans from Toteme. Boots again from Aeyde and the bag is last year’s hype from Arket.
I enjoyed it all and marked as a favorite in the Cladwell app.
As I was going out for a Saturday brunch with my friend, Sara, I decided to document my outfit here as well, even though my main focus for this series is on what I’m wearing in the office.
As you can see, I don’t mind rewearing the same item during one week - like here with this polo top, which I paired with my enormous open cashmere cardigan, suede pants + same boots and bag as above.
I felt at ease, relaxed and comfortable. All in all a really good outfit and a really good week. How was your week in outfits? Any surprises? Any discoveries?
Just as I mentioned in the beginning of this post - I am aiming at more consistent schedules here on Substack, so you know and can count on when a post from a given series - e.g. ‘What I wore in week #…/2025’ is coming. Something else that I’m considering, and maybe I will actually give it a try later today is to stream my live outfit planning sessions on Substack as well. What do you think? Would you watch them here?
Have a great week ahead and thanks so much for being here and reading along.
I love sheer tops like that, they are amazing layering pieces. I really like how you’ve mixed and matched your pieces and repeated things from day to day.
💕 I have to say, my favourite outfit is your opera ensemble. I love the little bit of shine in it to give it extra visual interest. That sounds like a really fun night too!
My work week fashion is all over the place, and then I have the weekend when I get to go a little “extra.” I enjoy the inconsistency.
Fabulous looks, Ewelyn.💜
