Loved reading this, Ewelina! I've been trying to get better about prioritizing exercise and strength training, but it's been hard to make it a habit. I keep focusing on the longevity benefits instead of the vanity ones in the hopes that it'll stick. This was a great reminder of the importance of doing so.

Thank you so much, Gillian! Everything in the right time. It took me 5 years since Covid to finally return to the gym and the heavier weights. I do however recommend working with a personal trainer - if this is within your reach. I promise you - you will be motivated and you will reach your goals! :)

Beautifully said, and the inspiration I needed today! I have been experiencing some body changes after I recently stopped breastfeeding, and some of my clothes just don’t fit comfortably anymore. I’ve been aiming my frustration in the wrong direction. 😉I am going to keep your words in mind. ❤️

Oh gosh! Forget my menopause, Reiko!!! You have given birth to a human being that you have been lovingly breastfeeding!!! ❤️ Now, THAT is an achievement and not something to be frustrated about!!! You have all of my and the rest of humanity's blessing to cull whatever no longer serves you in your closet the way it should. We should not be enslaved by our clothes! Never!

That line: ‘Clothes can be replaced. Bodies can’t’. So powerful. I’ve been working through the impact of a cancer diagnosis: treatment, surgery etc. Our bodies do change, but they are also our homes. The clothes are not.

Thank you so much, Cass, for sharing your personal experience on this topic. I cannot possibly fully understand what you and your body must have been going through. But you did it! :) Your body did it! Nothing else matters!!!

What an important message! Loved your take on this and your attitude towards your body and your clothes. Our clothes need to fit our reality.

This is been one of the hardest things about menopause. My weight has remained the same, but everything is shifted, and nothing fits the way that it used to.

I do frequent core and upper body exercises to ensure that my back and spine stay strong and my waist stays as small as I can get it, because I admit it, I am a vain about my waist.😁

Way to go, taking care of yourself and making yourself strong, Ewelina.💕

Thank you for sharing this, Sheila 🫶🏼😚 can you imagine that this is not something that ever came up in any conversations with or between middle aged women when I was younger.

So we need to talk about this more and more so that younger women are better prepared when it’s their time 🙌🏻

I so agree, we have to share these experiences. I was lucky, having a friend who was 10 years older than me, and she let me and all of our other friends know about what she was going through. We had warning, but it was still a shock.🥰

This is so recognisable to me! I've always been an athlete, but changed for more strength training to get rid of shoulder and knee pain (due to old injuries and necessary to be able to stand in the operation room). This made me broader thus growing out of some of my beloved vintage pieces as well. And even if I'm not bothering sizes and can think like You are writing most of the time, I really can feel grief for some of those fantastic skirts I've had to let go...

Thank you Missmatch 🫶🏼 and I think it’s ok to NOT be angry at once body and then at the same time consciously and lovingly grieve over a loss of a beloved piece of clothing. That’s actually something I should have written about. Thank you for mentioning it 🙌🏻

I love this! Such an empowering message that I wish all girls learned as early as possible. Thank you for sharing so openly to normalise this.

Thank you, Xue, and I cannot agree more! Every little girl should hear this early on! ...but so many grown-up women and mothers to girls may not be empowered enough to convey this message ...and so the stigma continues from generation to generation. Let's change this!
