It seems to me that so many creators and influencers in the Substack space, over on Instagram and YouTube are right now talking about full year of no-buy or maybe one month of no spend; buying only five new items over a whole year or maybe limiting themselves to one new item per month or quitting shopping all together.
Is this a long-lasting change or is it just a trend? Are we really slowing down consumption of new fashion items? New clothes? New bags? New shoes? New accessories?
Now, forgive me. I don’t have any statistics. I haven’t done any major analysis. But, if this is the case that most of our eyes are now looking in that direction, and our feet are walking the talk, and our wallets follow and we are putting our money where our mouth is…
…then this is the best news I’ve been waiting for and probably the best I will hear this year!
