For as long as I can remember, or at least for the past 5-7 years, I’ve been meticulously planning my outfits—if not for the entire work week, then at least for the following day. Call me a control freak, but I simply don’t have the mental bandwidth during the early morning hours to assemble the perfect outfit.
Does it have to be perfect? No… And yet, every time I wear something that is slightly off—be it the proportions, the monotonous textures, or a shoe that’s just too matchy-matchy—I find myself distracted by this imperfection throughout my workday.
To avoid this, I plan. Typically, I plan on a Sunday, but sometimes I just cannot wait with the creative process that outfit planning is for me, and I start putting outfits together already on a Friday. I love this ritual.
